Halsey is pregnant, expecting a ‘rainbow’ baby with Alev Aydin. See the surprise photo.

Posing in a rainbow crochet bikini top and jeans, Halsey surprised the world on Wednesday with a pregnancy announcement.

Fans cooed about the unexpected maternity photos, taken by photographer Sam Dameshek, 21, in front of a silk curtain background.

“Surprise!” Halsey, 26, captioned the photos on Instagram.

The pop singer, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, grew up in Washington, Warren County. She is expecting her first child with boyfriend Alev Aydin, whom she tagged in the photos.

This is not Halsey’s first pregnancy. She suffered a miscarriage during a tour in 2015 and had her eggs frozen after being diagnosed with endometriosis.

“My rainbow,” she said in a tweet on Wednesday, both her message and her bikini (and rainbow emojis) ostensibly referring to “rainbow baby”, a term for a baby who arrives after a previous miscarriage, stillbirth or death of a baby.

Aydin, a screenwriter, had only been provisionally associated with Halsey in recent months, but he is sure to become one of the most searched people on Google this week. In October, he was seen with Halsey buying art supplies in Los Angeles.

“I left the house once in the last three months and you know that because I was pampered,” she tweeted Saturday, perhaps referring to the Daily Mail photos of the art store hanging out with Aydin.

Aydin (see photo below) shared his pregnancy photos in his Instagram stories.

“Heart so full, I love you, sweetie,” he said in a comment on his post.

“I love you!!!!!” she answered. “And I already love this mini human!”

The singer, who is known for her chameleon hair and makeup style, recently launched her own cosmetics line. On January 22, she canceled her previously postponed Manic World Tour, citing security risks for fans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Halsey, a former student at Warren Hills Regional High School, released the album “Manic” in 2020 and recently spoke about the Grammy’s lack of love for her and other artists like The Weeknd this year.

“Without Me”, a single from the album, reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019. Halsey was nominated for two Grammys in 2016 for “Closer”, her collaboration with The Chainsmokers, and as a Grammy nominated artist for Justin Bieber album “Objetivo.”
