South Carolina land transfer quarterback

San Francisco Quarterback Jason Brown will move to South Carolina.

Brown, who was admitted to the university on Tuesday afternoon, has just announced his decision on Twitter. Leaving college, he was the No. 103 professional-style quarterback in the 2017 class.

In the second year of the redshirt in 2019, Brown led the NEC in passing yards (3,084) and touchdowns (28) in 2019. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound signal caller completed 251 of 403 passes in 3,084 yards. He averaged 7.7 yards per attempt, completed 62 percent of his passes, averaged 257.0 yards per game and launched six interceptions in 12 games.

After the 2019 season, Brown was honored as an All-American and was elected second-team All-NEC. South Carolina also offered its teammate, wide receiver EJ Jenkins, who played at Chancellor High School in Fredericksburg, Va.

The San Francisco season, which was originally postponed to spring, was canceled earlier this month by the university. The two players, who have known each other since high school, entered their names on the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Brown will enter a quarterback room that includes two starting games Luke Doty and Colten Gauthier, who enrolled in South Carolina earlier this month. Both will be classified as freshmen in 2021, thanks to the NCAA eligibility rules. Brown has two remaining seasons of college eligibility. He is due to be on campus in March to enroll in the middle of the spring semester.
