“I know that many of you have seen me smiling on social media and say that I don’t look so hurt or overwhelmed by it, but that is the most distant,” he said. “This time was awful.”
The former footballer gave credit to his friends and family for helping to support him in this difficult time and pointed out the challenges of having such a public relationship.
“The media takes things and runs with them. People spread lies or always want to point the finger,” said Moss. “But the fact is, there is no one to blame in this situation.”
He said his relationship with Crawley had its “ups and downs” and he seemed to refute his earlier claim that she learned of their separation at the same time as the public.
“The statements that came out didn’t come out of the blue,” he said. “I love Clare and I respect her enough that she knows how I feel, even if it goes against everyone else’s expectations.”
Crawley had previously posted a statement on his verified Instagram account that said “I was informed of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time as all of you, so I needed some time to really digest this.”
“Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is that I am devastated,” said the statement. “This was not what I expected or expected and I am still trying to process it.”
In his video, Moss said he was suffering and insisted that he invested in building a healthy relationship with Crawley.
“Although this is difficult, what you will see in me is trying to practice what I preach and continue to put my best foot forward each day,” he said. “While I try to find some sense of normalcy, I will also try to find joy and happiness each day and continue to share that. Everything else is in the hands of God.”
