According to Matt Zenitz, South Carolina Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer found his next team member.
Taylor Edwards was hired by the Maryland coach Mike Locksley as director of recruitment operations for just over two years. Assuming that Edwards is the new personnel director for South Carolina players, he will take over Drew Hughes, who left South Carolina for a similar position in Texas. Hughes predecessor, Matt Lindsey, now works at Ole Miss in a different role.

He helped Maryland build a recruiting class that is currently ranked 18th nationally in the 247Sports Composite ranking. Previously, he worked in Arkansas and Alabama.

In one season in Arkansas, Edwards helped the Razorbacks assemble the 22nd place class for the 2019 cycle. Edwards, a native of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, joined Chad Morrisafter working as a personal assistant player in Alabama.
Edwards’ college football career began in Jacksonville State, where he worked as a personnel and operations assistant. He then took over as recruiting director at Troy before serving as staff director for Samford players. Nick Saban hired him in 2017.
