Humboldt County Launches Vaccination Registration Site | Lost Coast Outpost

From the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

All Humboldt County residents who wish to receive the COVID-19 vaccine can now submit their contact information via an online interest form to be notified when doses are available for their level.

The form takes about two minutes to complete and asks for basic information such as name, email, postal code and willingness or ability to travel to a clinic in another part of the county. Almost 3,000 residents have completed the form since its launch on Friday.

Currently in Humboldt County, the vaccine is only available by appointment due to limited supply, and priority is given to frontline health workers and people aged 75 and over as part of Phase 1A. Vaccination schedules, while still limited, will be extended to some in Phase 1B Level 1 in the coming days and weeks.

Nominations will be made by priority group, as established by the California Department of Public Health. Filling out the form of interest will allow Humboldt County Public Health to contact residents directly when a clinic is scheduled for its priority group. Filling out the form does not put a resident in front of someone in a higher priority group.

The state of California is developing a similar system, myturn.ca.gov, but it is not currently operational in much of the state. More information about this system will be released as it becomes available.
