Brooklyn Nets expects the Cleveland Cavaliers to buy Andre Drummond’s contract this season.
The big star man is in the last year of his contract, and Cavs recently acquired the big man Jarrett Allen.
Kevin O’Connor of Ringer explained the Nets plan if Cavs gets out of the playoffs.
“People across the league say the Nets are waiting for Andre Drummond, the center of the Cavs, to be bought,” said O’Connor. “That’s what people say they expect, but that’s unlikely because Cleveland is still in (playoff hunt).”
The Cavs are clearly focused on their young core, and Allen fits his timeline much better than Drummond.
However, Drummond has averaged 18.3 points and 14.5 rebounds per game this season.
If the Cavs want to see more minutes for their youngsters, they can buy Drummond’s business so he can grab a candidate.
Although it seems unlikely, the Nets are looking to build a Big 4 in Brooklyn.
