Black mirror it’s satire. I thought we were all on the same page with this.

Like The Independent report, Microsoft obtained a patent in some technology that would allow the company to use the online footprint of people (or even fictional people), looking for things like “images, voice data, social media posts [and] electronic messages ”and then build a chatbot from it.

There are also provisions for people to be able to train a bot made by themselves.

The patented technology would be able to create the bot for a “past or present entity”. The latter is problematic in itself, as there are ten bad reasons for each good when it comes to simulating a conversation with a person who, alive, may be speaking for themselves.

And the first is just … look, that kind of thing was and you will be forever incredibly fucked. Let the dead rest and spare the living from torment.
