Phantasy Star Online 2 shows updated graphics and photo mode

Sega gave his last Phantasy Star Online 2 live broadcast event – the PSO2 Station—On January 23, 2021, and predicted a series of changes in future updates to the almost 9-year-old MMORPG. The main one among the updates is a large graphic revision defined to accompany the launch of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, the hybrid reset sequence for PSO2.

O Phantasy Star Online 2 graphic review features updated textures, character models and effects to bring PSO2 more in line with New Genesis‘ Look. More critically, new “Lobby Action” poses will be made available. The poses show updated animation equipment for the characters, adding things like finger movement. Finally, you can set up a pinky oath or say “No” by crossing your index fingers. Also featured was the “Screenshot Creator Studio” (or “SS Studio”), a dedicated photo / pose mode with new graphic options, scenarios and props to use for in-game photography.

Other changes included new costumes and character creator options to match New Genesis. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Phantasy Star Online, an PSO-Thematic event will also be held, featuring Rico Tyrell, Ash Canaan and Kireek from the original Dreamcast-based game. Players will be able to purchase their partner cards and invite them as members of the NPC group after clearing their customer orders.

The new update will also add a new event, a series of 12-player cooperative attacks that take place in various areas. Sega megafans will also appreciate the return of Ark Ship Fire Swirl, a mission based on Rangers on fire.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is now available for PC and Xbox One worldwide, as well as for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Japan. The new updates will take place between the end of February 2021 and March 2021 for the Japanese edition of the game. A launch window for the global edition is expected at a later date (the main update for Episode 6 was released on December 9, 2020). New Genesis is scheduled for a 2021 version and will allow the current PSO2 players to carry their accounts.
