Seth Rogen and Senator Ted Cruz have been involved in a heated exchange on Twitter for a few days, discussing everything from the Paris Climate Agreement to the Disney film “Fantasia”.
It all started on the day of the inauguration, when Cruz criticized President Joe Biden for reinstating the Paris Climate Agreement, to which Rogen replied: “Fuck you, fascist”.
Cruz then attached a screenshot of this interaction in another tweet, writing: “Enchanting, civilized and polite response. @Sethrogen If you are a rich and furious Hollywood celebrity, today’s Dems are the party for you. If you are a worker, if you are a member of a union, if you work with energy or manufacturing … not so much. “

Rogen fired back: “If you’re a white supremacist fascist who doesn’t find it offensive when someone calls your wife ugly, Ted Cruz is the exact son of a bitch for you,” adding, “I’m also in four unions.”

The rivalry was resumed the next day, when Cruz quote tweeted the MGM Studios post with the question: “What was the first movie you saw in theaters?” Cruz wrote: “Fantasia. It was going on in a movie revival. That scared me; I cried – I was 4 years old. My mom had to take me out. Good times.”

On January 22, Rogen replied, “Everyone who made that movie would hate you.”
“They are all dead. So I think we’re fine. And Walt Disney was a Republican, ”replied Cruz. “Even if you behave online like a Marxist with Tourette’s syndrome (shouting ‘FU! FU!’ Is very, very smart), your films are typically very funny. I’m sure you hate that I like them. “

Rogen then informed Cruz that he really does have a mild case of Tourette, adding, “Once again, I take great pleasure in telling you to go fuck yourself.” “Also, VERY few cases of Tourette’s manifestation in uncontrollable profanity. Most cases, like mine, manifest in spasms, ”Rogen continued.
As someone who has Tourette in the family (and also has a very moderate case), I am once again delighted to tell you to go fuck yourself. (There are VERY few cases of Tourette’s manifestation in uncontrollable curses. Most cases, like mine, manifest in spasms.) Http://t.co/NJaEjMfNJt

Rogen followed that tweet with, “Jokes aside, @tedcruz is a piece of fascist shit”, to which Cruz replied: “Jokes aside, @Sethrogen is an idiot. It is your party that believes in the power of the government: to close your deal, oppress your faith and censor your speech. Who disagrees, tries to cancel. In fact, many people in Hollywood are conservative – and gagged by the fascist left. “

This seemed to be the last straw for Rogen, who replied, “You literally inspired a deadly uprising, you stupid son of a bitch.”

Cruz has not yet responded to this tweet, but Rogen continued to explain his dislike for Cruz, bringing the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill and Cruz’s support for Trump’s efforts to overturn the election results. “This is not a Twitter ‘rivalry’. @tedcruz tried to overthrow our government, ”tweeted Rogen. “He inspired a deadly crowd to invade the Capitol. And I think it deserves to be ridiculed. So, fuck him. “

“Your lies killed people,” added Rogen in another tweet. “You have blood on your hands.”

Notable Hollywood members came together to defend Rogen, praising him for summoning Cruz.
“Ted Cruz doing awkward Trump cosplay is so embarrassing,” wrote Billy Eichner. “Honey, you don’t have * that *. You are simply NOT a star! Excuse!”

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who starred with Rogen in “50/50” and “The Night Before”, intervened to help explain Rogen’s anger towards the senator.
“Sir. Senator, as a non-threatening friend of @sethrogen, maybe I can translate ‘fascist’ into more charming and civil terms,” wrote Gordon-Levitt. Hitler, Mussolini and others. ”

Michael Herbert Schur, co-creator of “Parks and Recreation” and “The Office” who serves for Ken Tremendous on Twitter, wrote: “Hello, @tedcruz is desperate to start a fight with @Sethrogen, so everyone talks about it and no the fact that he made a bad faith attempt to overturn a fair election in order to cynically grab the Trump base and run for president in 2024. Let’s focus on the latter. “
