The trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong finally arrived after months of anticipation and before the film’s release in March in theaters and on HBO Max.
O Godzilla vs. Kong trailer has finally arrived. The next film will feature the battle of two of the most iconic monsters in cinema. A sequel to Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong is the expected continuation of Monsterverse from Legendary. Repeating their roles in the film are Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler. Rebecca Hall, Alexander Skarsgård and Brian Tyree Henry complete the cast as newcomers to the franchise.
Little is known about the impending battle between the two titans. The first glances at the film showed the struggle between the two monsters, but they were few and far between. Until very recently, the best look in the film was a toy commercial and a fan-made Godzilla vs. Kong trailer that compiled all previously released footage into a video. Now, however, Legendary finally took the first look at the film just under two months before it hit theaters and HBO Max.
Godzilla vs. Kong is scheduled to be released in theaters and on HBO Max on March 26 as part of Warner Bros. ‘simultaneous release strategy. Legendary finally released the new trailer before the film’s March 26 release. The trailer starts with Kong chained before showing scenes of the battle aboard military aircraft carriers. The trailer positions Kong as the hero and Godzilla as the villain, with many characters concerned about Godzilla’s destructive behavior. They pin all their hopes on Kong to stop Godzilla and the trailer shows the huge battles that await fans. Watch the first full trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong, below:
The trailer is an exciting look at the first blockbuster to hit the screens in a while. With the strategy of Warner Bros. to release all of its 2021 films in theaters and on HBO Max at the same time, may be one of the only box office hits to be released in the coming months, as more and more films have their dates postponed. Fortunately, Godzilla vs Kong it seems to be the perfect blockbuster to fill that gap. The trailer shows the massive scale of the worldwide film, with the return of familiar faces that fans will recognize from previous films. Brown’s character is positioned to cheer for Godzilla, or at least find out why he is so adamant in defeating Kong, while Kong has his own cheerleaders in the Hall franchise newcomers, Skarsgård, and an unnamed child.
The trailer itself shows only three battle sequences: one aboard military aircraft carriers, one, apparently set in the past, with Kong, and what appears to be the final battle between the titular characters in a neon-lit urban landscape. The film seems to be making Kong the main focus, appropriately. Godzilla and his origins have been explored in two previous films, while Kong: Skull Island is the only current Monsterverse film to explore Kong’s history. Godzilla vs Kong it seems to be filling this background story while serving some truly gigantic fights. The long-awaited confrontation between the two titans is finally here and, if the trailer is any indication, the wait will be worth it.
