JoJo Siwa became a member of the LGBTQ community over the weekend.
The 17-year-old child star and former “Dance Moms” performer was candid with her fans during a video on Instagram Live on Saturday, where she confirmed the news she had suggested a few days earlier.
“Personally, I have never, ever been so happy before and it’s really incredible. I’ve been happy for a while. It’s so, so, so incredible,” Siwa told his followers. “You probably haven’t seen me so happy since I was on tour.”
She explained that she does not identify herself as heterosexual, but was unable to put any more labels on herself. Siwa noticed her followers that she is not sure where she is with the labels at this point and did not want to apply any while she was still figuring things out.

“I think humans are amazing, I think humans are really incredible people. At the moment, I’m super happy and I want to share everything with the world, but I also want to keep things in my life private until they’re ready to go public. Right now, what matters is that you know that it doesn’t matter who you love, it’s okay. It’s amazing and the world is there for you, “she says in the video. “There are so many people who are there for you. I know that everyone’s situation is different and it may be more difficult for some people and it may be easier for some people to assume or be themselves, but I think that assuming has a stigma in around it – that it’s really, really, really scary, but it’s not anymore. There are so many people who accept and love it that it’s okay.
She noted that she is aware that there will be people who will criticize her decision to come out. However, she explains that she hopes to send a message to people to value their own happiness above what other people think.

“Of course people will say it’s not normal, but nothing is normal. Literally, nothing about anyone is normal and it’s okay not to be normal, it’s okay to be a little different, it’s okay to be a little weird, weird, different. This is something we should never be afraid of. It is something we should be proud of. “
Siwa went on to explain that he always knew he could be comfortable in a romantic relationship with a man or woman. However, as she never fell in love, it was not something she felt she should put a label on until now. She also mentioned how her family reacted to the news, noting that her mother seemed to know even before she did.
