The latest controversy in the war zone is once again returning to the more “Pay to Win” theme of the game.
Call of Duty: Warzone is a game with more than a few problems, but one of them has been hidden under the surface for some time. In Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5, we saw the introduction of Rook Skin for Roze.
This all-black skin makes the Operator extremely difficult to see, especially in the darker areas of Verdansk. And despite thousands of players taking advantage of the skin, there were never any requests to change it.

Now, war zone players are once again battling the Pay to Win skin, after seeing their dominance in a major tournament.
Why is Rook a payment for skin in the war zone?
The Rook skin for Operator Roze in Warzone is classified as Pay to Win because it offers a real advantage in the game. Unlike other Call of Duty cosmetics, this completely black skin allows users to blend into the shadows with ease.
In fact, this is probably the idea behind the skin, as there is little to no color in the entire skin. Even the operator’s eyes are painted with black paint, to eliminate any visibility.
Although Warzone’s Pay to Win weapon is no longer in the game, this skin has been around for two seasons.
New players entering Battle Royale are no longer able to get their hands on the skin of the Tower. Although Roze is available as a package in the store, the all black appearance has been blocked at Level 100 of the Season 5 Battle Pass.
Because of this, the most OP skin in the game would require real money to unlock and possibly more to buy the necessary layers, in case you didn’t have hours to work.

What’s more, there is no longer any way to acquire the skin, which makes it a Pay to Win advantage that new players cannot obtain.
Should the tower be removed from the war zone?
But why bring up Roze’s Rook skin again now, two seasons after the original controversy?
Simply put, it is becoming a nuisance. This is the iconic skin of the sweaty tryhard that Warzone players hate, but it gives a notable advantage to those who use it.
Just look at this image from the recent Warzone Twitch Rivals Doritos Bowl tournament. Every player waiting to enter the private lobby is wearing the Pay to Win skin, which is clearly beneficial.
When there is an incredible $ 250,000 at stake, who is not going to grab any possible advantage to win?
In the tournament, almost all competing players were wearing the Rook skin, despite 54 available operators. No other skin offers so much advantage in the game, and players are once again contacting Activision to fix the problem.
Since this was a Battle Pass skin, it is unlikely that Rook will be removed. However, the skin can undergo minor changes, to make it more visible in games.
In that same tournament, a Warzone streamer was banned from the competition after allegations of cheating. However, it now appears that the player was innocent, prompting Dr. Disrespect to summon the tournament organizers.
Recently, NICKMERCS broke his own personal Warzone record with a new loadout. We’ll let you guess what skin he was wearing.
