Boulder launches ‘Be Safe, Boulder’ campaign

Boulder on Friday launched a new campaign called Be Safe, Boulder that encourages people to remain safe while the coronavirus pandemic continues.

The campaign includes messages from a series of current and past Boulderites, including documentary filmmaker Jeff Orlowski, Olympic cyclist Mara Abbott and Governor Jared Polis.

According to a city statement, the campaign was launched almost exactly a year after the World Health Organization declared coronavirus a global health emergency.

“My heart goes out to all the families that have been affected by this deadly virus,” says Polis in the video.

Acting city manager Chris Meschuk said in the statement that he hopes the messages will inspire people to follow safety protocols and public health guidelines until a sufficient population is vaccinated.

“It is a very difficult time for all of us, but we can overcome this together,” says Orlowski in the video.
