County expands COVID-19 vaccinations to 65 years and older | News

San Diego County today has expanded the category of eligible to include those 65 and older.

“As I indicated a few weeks ago, the county anticipated expanding eligibility for individuals 65 years of age or older in the week of January 25 as part of the continued focus on those at greatest risk,” said Wilma J. Wooten, MD, MPH, County public health officer. “With several health providers now vaccinating in the age group, and the UC San Diego Super Health Station having a surplus of consultations, the decision was made this afternoon. Appointments are still required and vaccines are available based on supply. “
