The Vivo X60 Pro Plus Smartphone has a camera co-developed with Zeiss

Vivo announced the X60 Pro Plus, its flagship smartphone from 2021 that features a series of quad cameras that was co-developed by Zeiss. Called “Vivo Zeiss Joint Imaging System”, companies promise excellent quality despite the small size of the hardware.

Vivo announced a partnership with Zeiss in December 2020 and the X60 Pro Plus is the first phone to take advantage of this partnership.

The X60 Pro Plus has four cameras in slightly raised relief: a super large 23 mm lens with a 50 megapixel GN1 sensor, a 23 mm super wide angle micro lens in front of a 50 megapixel sensor and a 32 megapixel sensor 50 mm “professional portrait” lens and an 8 megapixel 125 mm super telephoto periscope lens.

The main 23 mm camera also has a larger 1/3 inch sensor and optics that Vivo and Zeiss claim to have “high resolution features and can improve dispersion, brightness, purple fringes and ghosts”. Not only is the sensor larger, but it also has a fully open aperture of f / 1.57, which companies claim that when combined with the larger sensor will result in excellent night photography capabilities.

In addition, the X60 Pro + uses Zeiss T * coating technology, which, according to the companies, greatly increases the transmittance of the lens to reduce glare and significantly improve overall image quality.

The Vivo X60 Pro + is the industry’s first second micro-angle head camera. It uses a combination of the 48 megapixel IMX598 sensor and a second generation microhead. It has a focal length equivalent to 14 mm and can achieve 114 degrees ultra wide angle capture without correction, as shown below:

This wide-angle camera also has an integrated optical image stabilization system which, according to the company, has four anti-vibration axes in photography and five anti-vibration axes in video mode, along with a “complete night of full scene “camera,” black light 2.0 night vision

Vivo X60 Pro + has four-axis image stabilization in photos and five-axis stabilization for video recording when using the super wide camera. The 8 megapixel optical periscopic lens is also capable of 60 times digital zoom and, together with the 2x digital zoom available in the 32 megapixel 50 mm camera, are used together in the camera’s portrait mode.

The phone has a number of other notable features like a fingerprint reader on the display, a 6.56-inch Full HD OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, 8 or 12 processor GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 Storage and a decent size 4,200mAh battery that can be charged at decent speeds of 55W. In addition to not having a 1440p screen and loading faster, the rest of the Vivo X60 Pro Plus looks very excellent.

Available in China only for now, Vivo X60 Pro Plus will be available in Classic Orange and Phantom Blue with prices starting at CNY 5,000 (~ $ 775) for the 8 GB RAM and 128 GB model. The 12 GB model of RAM and 256 GB storage costs CNY 6,000 (~ $ 927).
