“I don’t see people of color, I see people. That’s it.”
“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Kelly Dodd found himself having to explain a catchphrase, again, after a clip for the meeting episode was released.
In it, Shannon Beador said that a co-star called her “racist” and “homophobic”, as Dodd appeared to respond by shouting, “I’m black!”

On Friday, in an interview with E !, the reality show star broke the motivation for the surprising announcement.
“So we have Braunwyn, who is blonde, blue eyes, as white as possible,” began Dodd. “She is always saying that I am racist or homophobic and that really irritates me. So I did a ’23andMe’ and I don’t identify myself as a black person, that was not my point. Negro, Asian, Mexican, Spanish, I am 30% native American and 1% Jewish. And I am of all races. “
“I don’t see people of color, I see people. That’s it.”
In a previous interview with the communication channel, Dodd also clarified his side of the heated discussion she had with presenter Andy Cohen about COVID and politics in last week’s meeting episode.

“I mean, the amount of messages I get that you’re uneducated, is spreading misinformation, is behaving like an idiot …” Cohen said on the show, before Dodd turned the tables.
“I also understand them, saying that you are anti-American, that you expose your political beliefs, that they don’t want to watch a political program,” she countered. “I’m anti-American because I don’t like Donald Trump?” asked an incredulous Cohen. “Yes,” said Dodd.
She explained to E !, “My point with Andy is that you can always find negative comments on social media. Some people with zero posts and zero followers comment, but the vast majority of comments about me are positive.”
“And my point is that just because people come to me and say that he is anti-American, it doesn’t mean that he is,” she continued. “It’s not that he’s anti-American, I don’t think he’s anti-American at all. But I see people who DM me who say that, it doesn’t mean it’s true. That’s what I meant.”
The “RHOC” meeting will continue next Wednesday at Bravo.
