The Bleacher Report shows the latest news from the WWE Universe.

Plans for Sting’s departure at the AEW Revolution

All Elite Wrestling announced On Thursday Sting will make his debut in the ring for the company at Revolution’s next pay-per-view when he joins TNT champion Darby Allin against Team Taz members Brian Cage and Ricky Starks in a Street Fight in February 27.

The fight will be the first for the 61-year-old Sting at AEW and the first in any wrestling promotion since 2015.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h / t Felix Upton from Ringside News), Street Fight will “it will almost certainly be a cinematic combination. “

Meltzer noted that having a cinematic fight would allow AEW to be careful, given Sting’s age and the fact that he has spinal stenosis, which is why the WWE never allowed him to have another fight after his fight with Seth Rollins on the Night of Champions 2015.

Sting was unable to find balance after taking a buckle bomb during the game, and he was diagnosed with spinal stenosis shortly thereafter.

While the WWE was content to keep Sting under a legendary deal and use him for special appearances, The Icon apparently felt he still had something to give as an in-ring artist, and AEW is about to give him a chance to prove it. that.

There would be some risk involved in a regular match in which Sting would have to take a few bumps, but a cinematic match is probably the best way to protect him and make sure he doesn’t get hurt.

Sting has been helping Allin for the past few weeks during his rivalry with Team Taz, and he finally had physical problems last week when he hit Starks with a bat.

If he does something similar at Revolution, it would be an effective way to include him as an active artist without putting him in danger.

WWE considering 2 WrestleMania opponents for the kingdoms

Roman Reigns is likely to enter WrestleMania 37 in April as the WWE universal champion, and he imagines he is in one of the best fights on the card.

According to Meltzer (h / t Upton), WWE is considering two potential opponents for Reigns at WrestleMania. One is Daniel Bryan and the other is unknown, although Shinsuke Nakamura is known not to be in the running.

It is not surprising to see Bryan among potential opponents, as he has a history with Reigns and suffered a violent attack at the hands of Jey Use at the behest of Reigns for several weeks.

Bryan is considered one of the main candidates to win the Royal Rumble fight, and if he achieves that feat, he will certainly choose to face Reigns.

With Reigns establishing himself as one of the most dominant heels in recent memory, having him face the consummate underdog babyface in Bryan at The Grandest Stage of Them All would be a money game for the WWE.

Reigns vs. Nakamura would also be intriguing, especially after what happened two weeks ago. Nakamura went through a gauntlet fight for the No. 1 Universal Championship contender before Reigns and Uso attacked him and helped Adam Pearce win.

Nakamura apparently looked like a baby during the fight by shaking Bryan’s hand, and he defeated Use on last week’s SmackDown.

If Nakamura isn’t running to face Reigns, it’s hard to say who else could be. Intercontinental champion Big E may be a possibility, given the push he received recently.

Goldberg may also be an option, as he and Reigns were supposed to face each other at WrestleMania last year for the universal title. Goldberg is back and will face McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 31.

Regardless of who faces The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania, it will be big business and the focal point of WWE programming before the event.

WWE plans big return for Aleister Black

Aleister Black hasn’t fought since October, but WWE hasn’t forgotten about him.

According to PW Insider Elite (h / t Upton), WWE took Black off television in October to set the stage for a “big dramatic debut” on SmackDown, but “it just hasn’t happened” so far.

Black’s wife, Zelina Vega, was released by WWE in November because of a disagreement over the use of third-party platforms for profit.

Perhaps this situation has changed WWE’s plans when it comes to Black, or it may just be the case of WWE waiting for the perfect opportunity to bring him back and make him a big part of SmackDown.

That opportunity could be on the horizon with the Royal Rumble, and Black would be an ideal surprise participant.

Before his hiatus, Black turned heel and was fighting with Kevin Owens. By keeping him off the TV for so long, WWE would have the option of bringing him back as a heel or a babyface.

No matter how WWE wants to use Black, he is a great asset to the company because of his unique appearance and vibrancy, as well as his excellent skills in the ring.

SmackDown has been the best product in WWE for the past few months, and it stands to reason that Black will be used well in the blue brand if and when he returns.
