JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – Not just one man from Florida, but eight and counting were arrested and charged with participating in the Capitol riots earlier this month.
Their posts on social media have caused many of them to be arrested. Like Bradley Weeks, 43.
He was seen on video inside and outside the Capitol building, but was released on Thursday on $ 5,000 bail. He won’t have to pay anything if he follows the restrictions ordered by the judge.
Then there’s Joseph Biggs, 37.
The FBI said Biggs is a Proud Boy organizer who was also seen inside the Capitol and was released on Wednesday under house arrest.
Lawyer Gene Nichols, who is not affiliated with either case, said the court automatically considers everyone’s freedom.

“If they don’t have a record, and it looks like they’re going to appear in court and / or not pose a threat to the community, many of these people are being released on their own or for a non-monetary bond,” said Nichols.
He said that everyone has different conditions of restraint based on their alleged actions on Capitol.
For example, Weeks had to give his weapons to a family member, use a tracking device and cannot have contact with anyone he went to Washington DC with.
News4Jax asked Nichols if the restrictions are sufficient.
“If there is a language that is being used on social media sites, there is a history of that person being involved in an organization. that’s when you will see the differences between these title conditions, ”he explained.
Nichols said it is never easy for judges to decide on bailing individuals because they must consider whether the person may be a threat to the community, while assessing that person’s right to be innocent until proven guilty.
The FBI is still receiving tips and trying to identify the participants in the riots.
There are some people in Florida who we know that the agencies are investigating.
Nicholas said that his criminal charges will be dealt with in Washington DC, and that the charges will soon come out of grand jury investigations for possible murder charges.
In addition, charges of sedition and insurrection can lead to higher amounts of titles and prison terms before going to trial.
