Joe Biden to focus on economic recovery after Covid with 17.5 million vaccines administered in the US – vivo | USA News

An important group of conservative doctors who disclose misinformation about Covid-19 vaccines are facing increasing criticism from medical experts about their unfortunate scientific base, while their leader, Dr. Simone Gold, was charged earlier this week for participating in the attack. January 6 to the Capitol.

Gold, who founded America’s Frontline Doctors last spring with the help of the Tea Party Patriots organization, was arrested Monday in Beverly Hills, where she lives, and faces charges of entering a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct.

Before her arrest, a photo of Gold holding a megaphone she used to give a lecture inside the Capitol appeared in an FBI pamphlet entitled “Seeking Information” about the suspects in the Capitol attack. Gold first acknowledged his presence on the Capitol and expressed “regret” to the Washington Post, after a video appeared of his walk inside the Capitol.

Last May, Gold’s group quickly gained attention when several right-wing allied organizations, including Tea Party Patriots and the FreedomWorks Foundation, began a well-funded advertising campaign by attacking state blockades and minimizing the risks of the pandemic.

Gold and his fledgling group attacked policies advocated by leading scientists like Dr. Anthony Fauci and other national pandemic experts, and promoted misinformation in demonstrations in Los Angeles and Washington and in right-wing media outlets owned by Salem Radio and Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network.

Gold’s mission included publicizing the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, a fake Covid-19 cure that Donald Trump endorsed and that poses serious health risks, and suggesting that the blocking effects on mental health were more harmful than the Covid virus. -19.

Last July, Gold delivered his message at a well-publicized rally that his group organized in front of the Supreme Court, which attracted about 10 doctors, including two ophthalmologists. Gold, who worked in two hospitals before the rally, was fired afterwards and quickly summoned Trump’s conservative lawyer and ally Lin Wood to represent her.
