Anthony Fauci, the United States government’s leading infectious disease specialist, said he suffered mild side effects after receiving a second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“I hoped I wouldn’t be too knocked out. I did it for about 24 hours. I’m fine now, ”he said at an event at the White House on Thursday.
Fauci, an adviser to President Joe Biden at Covid-19, said that sense tired and in pain, “not sick”.
The mild side effects are consistent with what vaccine manufacturers reported in their clinical trials and are signs of the body’s immune response to inoculation.
Fauci was shot by Moderna Inc. at a public ceremony last month to boost confidence in the vaccine.
