The Green Bay Packers hired CB Tramon Williams for the training team and released P Ryan Winslow of the practice squad. General manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction on Thursday.
(truh-MON) Williams (5-11, 191) played 205 games with 153 games during his 14 NFL seasons and recorded 728 tackles (565 solo), 34 interceptions (No. 2 among active NFL players), 4, 5 sacks, 185 defended passes, six forced fumbles, 11 fumble recoveries and 28 special team tackles. He also appeared in 16 postseason disputes with 11 matches, recording four interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown and 18 defended passes. Former Pro Bowler (2010) returns to Packers (2007-14, 2018-19) after spending this season with the Baltimore Ravens, where he appeared in six games during the regular season and a postseason contest. Williams was originally hired by the Houston Texans as a Louisiana Tech non-hired free agent in 2006, but was released before the regular season. He joined the Green Bay training team later that season and also played for Cleveland Browns (2015-16) and Arizona Cardinals (2017) in his career. Williams will use No. 38 for the Packers.
RB Mike Weber will now use No. 40 for Green Bay.
