The Resident Evil showcase will take place later today, January 20th, and you can watch the whole thing here.
Firstly, the Resident Evil showcase will start at 14:00 PT / 17:00 ET / 22:00 GMT. As for where you can watch, you can see the full live stream ready to go on the official PlayStation YouTube channel below, so you can stay on this page and click play on the video below at the corresponding time today.
As for what we expect from the Resident Evil showcase itself, there will obviously be a big focus on Resident Evil 8. When the showcase was first announced last week, Capcom revealed that there will be a guided tour around a particular section of the next horror game, and the PlayStation blog post reveals that producer Peter Fabiano himself will act as your guide.
However, there will also be “a few more surprises” from Capcom around the Resident Evil franchise, according to the PlayStation blog post already mentioned. At the moment, there is no way to say what these ads may be, but we will certainly be in for a surprise.
Keep in mind that one of these “surprises” could be the revelation of the mysterious new multiplayer game Resident Evil. Last week, Capcom quietly announced that closed test registrations were live for a multiplayer game set in the Resident Evil universe, but no additional details were offered on the project.
There is still time to sign up to participate in the closed testing phase for the unannounced game. There are two waves of sign-ups in the game, and you can still apply to be eligible through the game’s teaser site.
In addition, we were able to hear more details about the upcoming Resident Evil Netflix series. The subscription service announced the show for the first time last year, but we have heard little about the project since it was revealed. The series is still scheduled to be released this year, so now would be a perfect opportunity to reveal some new details.
What is certain is that this will be a great event for Resident Evil. 2021 marks the series’ 25th anniversary, since it was first created by Capcom in 1996. With a game, TV series and other projects underway this year, Resident Evil fans will be in for a surprise today.
