Additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine arrive in Riverside County

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA – More commitments will be opened for The free COVID-19 vaccine clinics after Riverside County received additional doses this week, but space is limited, it was announced on Wednesday.

Appointment scheduling (mandatory) starts at noon on Thursday, January 21, for six county-run clinics at Lake Elsinore’s Diamond Stadium, as well as county fairs in Perris and Indio. Only people aged 65 and over and people working in high-risk environments (all levels in phase 1A and level 1 in phase 1B) are eligible to receive the vaccine.

The appointment was made after Riverside County announced it had received 26,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week. Out of allocation, however, only 3,900 doses will be used in vaccine clinics administered by the county. The other doses are for community partners, according to the municipality. See a list of community partners here.

“Vaccine supply remains limited and vaccine demand is high,” the county said in a press release.

Since the vaccine distribution was announced last month, the county has received a total of 157,775 doses on Wednesday afternoon, according to data from the University of Riverside Health System.

The next clinics are scheduled for January 22 and 23 at Diamond Stadium, 500 Diamond Drive, Lake Elsinore, CA, 92530. The January 22 clinic is only for people over 65 (consultation still required).
