Warriors find balance in the explosion of Spurs – The Athletic

Recent twists and turns against the Clippers and Lakers have invigorated a faltering Warriors team. They stopped losing streak and calmed their nerves at the start of the season. They were powered by Steph Curry and a second strange little ball unit dragging them back to the games. That’s why the Warriors maintained a steady 7-6 balance on Wednesday night.

But for them to gain consistent traction this season, to gather a firm base in the playoffs in the middle of a packed conference, their most-used unit needs to be better or reorganized. They were better in the 121-99 victory over Spurs.

Steve Kerr, for the time being, has pledged to keep it the same: Curry, Kelly Oubre Jr., Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, James Wiseman, a group of five men who entered the night with less than 45 accumulated in 126 minutes together, the worst initial league lineup. Contenders kill teams to open most games. The playoff teams are at least stable to open the third and fourth most nights.
