The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery draw has risen to about $ 730 million with a $ 546 million cash option – potentially making it the fifth largest in the history of the U.S. lottery.

The winning numbers were: 40, 53, 60, 68, 69. The Powerball drawn was 22 with a 3X Power Play.

If someone hits the jackpot, it would be Powerball’s fourth biggest win.

Although no one hit the $ 639.4 million Powerball jackpot on Saturday, there were 16 second prize tickets sold across the country. Three were purchased in Texas, two were sold in California and one each was purchased in Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Each hit five numbers, but not the Powerball.

Tickets for New Hampshire and Pennsylvania are valued at $ 2 million each because they were purchased with the Power Play option for an extra $ 1. Tickets to California are valued at $ 536,063 each. California lottery prizes vary based on ticket sales and the number of winners. They differ from the second fixed prizes offered in other participating states.

The others are worth $ 1 million each.

In New Jersey, two $ 50,000 third prize tickets were sold – one in Fort Lee and one in the Manahawkin section of Stafford, lottery officials said.

Saturday’s winning numbers were: 14, 20, 39, 65, 67. The drawn Powerball was two with a Power Play of 3X.

The Powerball jackpot has not been won since September 16, when someone who purchased a ticket at Ballston Spa, New York, won the maximum prize pool of $ 94.6 million. Since then, 35 draws have been carried out without a jackpot winner.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $ 2 ticket has about 1 in 11,688,053 chances of hitting five numbers and winning at least $ 1 million, while the odds are of 913,129 for 1 to win the third prize of at least $ 50,000.

Powerball is played on Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington DC, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open by appointment only. You can still claim your earnings – as long as they are less than $ 599.50 – in person at any retailer.

The lottery is also accepting claims sent by mail, although officials warn that payments may be delayed temporarily. Winners are advised to make copies of the application form and the winning ticket for their records.
