‘The Masked Dancer’ Cricket is a 17-time Grammy nominated singer

Fox folks are apparently trying to get Brian McKnight to compete in the The masked singer for several seasons now. So Judge Ken Jeong was shocked when, at the end of Wednesday’s Group A playoffs for the spinoff series O Masked dancer, Cricket removed his helmet with bulging eyes … and there was the soulman “Back at One” in person.

Not even ex Beverly Hills, 90210 star and current Masked dancer Judge Brian Austin Green recognized McKnight by the clues, one of which was actually the 9-0-2-1-0 number sequence, although McKnight’s “Love Is” duet with Vanessa Williams was successful 90210 soundtrack album in 1992 and McKnight even starred in that teen soap opera. “I’m amazed. It’s an absolute honor to have you here and meet you. I’m always a big fan of yours. I just didn’t expect it to be Brian McKnight, obviously. Stupid of me,” quipped Brian.

Only the panel’s expert vibeologist, Paula Abdul, correctly guessed the man in the green pantyhose who detonated those old “That’s how we do it” movements. But as a ’90s pop star, who also appeared on 90210 soundtrack – and someone who has danced alongside a bipedal anthropomorphic cat – Paula was clearly uniquely qualified for this task.

When asked why he signed up The masked dancer – instead of the show, he frankly had a much better chance of winning, The masked singer – The singer of Quiet Storm and Grammy nominee McKnight explained 17: “The way I sound, you would probably be able to choose me. But with that, even if these were the most obvious clues on planet Earth, it was fun, because nobody knew it was me – except Paula! “

So, Cricket will not make it into next week’s Super Six semifinals. But survivors Exotic Bird, Hammerhead and Tulip from Group A will be there, competing alongside Group B Zebra, Cotton Candy and Sloth. So let’s start again and try to guess the identities of the other mysterious dancers in Group A …

The exotic bird

Bird’s pop dance to Sam Smith and Disclosure’s “Latch” didn’t take off, but she definitely looked comfortable on a big stage. She was fun and seductive, really feeling the fantasy. “You are definitely an artist. … You to know how to work on stage, ”ruled Judge Ashely Tisdale.

The clues: She became “very ill with wild bird flu” just before a great opportunity and found it “difficult to breathe”, but her mother took care of her until she was well. We also saw a football trophy, a slice of apple pie and a DJ turntable (which implies that she may be a hip-hop or EDM artist), and her verbal clue was “number one”. Previous clues to the season’s premiere were number 17, a glitter pistol, perfume and a box of eggs marked “Best in 2007”. The Exotic Bird also mentioned earlier that she started out as a teenager and was attacked for her personal life and for “being a big bird”.

Judges’ guesses: Shakira, Janet Jackson, Jordin Sparks, Kate Hudson, Megan Thee Stallion.

My guess: Bird’s physique did not match the rapper Megan from “Body”, and the movements were not advanced enough to be Shakira or Janet. Paula, who choreographed Janet Jackson’s first music videos, knew immediately that Ken’s guess about Janet was wrong. But I think Paula will soon be rejoicing again, because she guessed that this was her american idol Pal Jordin, and the clues are adding up. Jordin, daughter of professional soccer player Phillippi Sparks, was 17 when he won Idol in ’07; was in the movie Shine (hence the brightness); it’s a wholeAmerican girl (hence the apple pie); has its own fragrance line; it’s 5 feet-10; and was a constant presence in the gossip column when she dated Jason Derulo. Jordin also reached number one with “No Air”, a duet with hip-hop star Chris Brown (hence the “hard to breathe” track), and in the past she suffered some illnesses – bleeding from the vocal cords in 2008 and acute appendicitis in 2009 – which forced her to cancel important shows and TV appearances.

The Hammerhead

Sharkboy’s TikTok changes to Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” indicated that he is a younger celebrity, social media connoisseur. He is certainly not a professional dancer, but he looked like someone who goes to the club regularly.

The clues: There were some apparent clues from Eminem (quotes from the song “Lose Yourself” and several flashes of the letter “E”), a wedding cake, carrots, tomatoes and an aquarium. He talked about feeling “trapped in a cage” and how he once dreamed of becoming a lawyer. His verbal clue was “heartbreaker”. Previous clues included a bowl of alphabet soup that contained the word “TALK”, a coffee mug with the name “Joe” and references to early fame, burnout, workaholism, lifeguards and painting.

Judges’ guesses: Ryan Seacrest, Joe Rogan, Joe Jonas, the situation.

My guesses: Paula once again proved that she is the most valuable judge on the panel, but when she guessed the situation, she made a little mistake. I think this is another Jersey Shore star, Vinny Guadagnino. Vinny hosted a short talk show, likes to paint, became famous while in the setting of a reality show aquarium / cage, has wanted to be a lawyer and, perhaps most notably, starred as a character named Joe Conte in a film called Jersey Shore shark attack. It is now clear that Hammerhead has honed his dance skills on the Karma dance floor! Maybe he took E no Karma too.

The tulip

If there is a professional / trained dancer from this season, even more than Cotton Candy, it is this florist. His contemporary routine for Eva Cassidy’s version of Sting’s “Fields of Gold” was like something out of So you think you can mask. His presentation left guest judge Rob Lowe in tears. “If you had told me that I would end up on this panel crying for a dancing tulip, I would have said that you are crazy,” the ex-Packer brat laughed.

The clues: We saw chalk, a rival with a wreath who became a best friend and more TikTok references. The verbal cues included “frozen” and “princess”, and Tulipa said she was “very judged as a child”. The previous tracks were number 11, the acronym “ALDC” and references to the choir club, acrobatics and Wicked.

Judges’ guesses: Sarah Hyland, Hayden Panettiere, Kristen Bell, Charli D’Amelio, Simone Biles.

My guesses: After watching the tulip bloom on stage twice, I now think she’s a former student of Dance Moms‘Abby Lee Dance Company (hence the “ALDC”). I’m going with Kenzie Ziegler, also known as Mackenzie, who starred in the film Ice Princess Lily and like Dorothy in a festive pantomime called The wonderful jaguar winter. The friend with a wreath may represent Kenzie’s older sister, Maddie, who danced with Sia at Coachella.
