You will be able to buy the PS5 from GameStop in the next few hours, according to the U.S. retailer, which is warning everyone before the PS5 is replenished on Thursday.
We first heard about this GameStop PS5 update through the store’s official Twitter account. GameStop is a challenge to the destination and the enhanced capabilities of business seekers who have clicked through online queues since the console launched on 12 November.
While GameStop announced the refueling in advance, it noted that the stock will come on the console Packages – so it is not clear whether they will also sell the systems on their own. Fortunately, it’s not just the PS5, as there will be refill packs for the Xbox Series X and more Nintendo Switch consoles to buy as well.
Here’s where to check PS5 refueling:
❗Caution❗– A limited number of PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X console consoles | S and Nintendo Switch will be available tomorrow at https://t.co/CYyCoH1dWE. We’ll let you know when they’re live, but you might want to turn on post notifications so you don’t miss out! pic.twitter.com/tC3dUBDbKlJanuary 20, 2021
Unfortunately, GameStop did not say when the PS5 refueling would happen, but we would guess in the afternoon due to the console’s previous crashes. But keep checking to make sure GameStop doesn’t have another surprise ad.
PS5 refueling: why it’s better than ever
If you’re reading this, you may have been struggling to buy a PS5 since November, and you’re not alone: many consumers have tried unsuccessfully to skip row after row online, as consoles sell out before they have a chance to buy one. It’s not you, it’s the low supply and the huge demand for a new generation of consoles after seven years of PS4 and Xbox One.
Even if you end up not receiving a unit with this refueling, we can guarantee that more will come – probably within a week. Retailers have quietly continued their effort to obtain more inventory on a regular basis, although, as with all inventories we have seen, they tend to arrive without notice. This GameStop tweet, then, is a nice change of pace, giving us all time to prepare.
Best of all, waiting that long means a shorter wait for all new PS5 games scheduled to be released over 2021.
