What to know Wednesday
- The state Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 2,570 new confirmed cases and 11 new deaths across the state on Tuesday. The agency also reported 23 new probable cases.
- Clemson University reported 259 positive cases of the coronavirus last week, according to its data panel. There are 62 students quarantined now, according to the panel.
- In the coming weeks, Prisma Health expects to be able to administer up to 10,000 doses of vaccine per day, announced in a press release.
- Governor Henry McMaster asked hospitals to voluntarily reduce the number of elective and non-emergency procedures while health systems across the state continue to struggle with a large number of patients with COVID-19.
