The Los Angeles Rams is hiring former Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator and interim coach Raheem Morris as their new defensive coordinator, according to Josina Anderson. The NFL Network first linked Morris as a target.
Morris will replace defensive parting coordinator Brandon Staley, who was hired by the Los Angeles Chargers last week as his next manager.
After the Falcons parted ways with Dan Quinn, Morris took over as interim coach, in addition to his role in DC for the remainder of the 2020 season. With Atlanta, he served as assistant chief coach, defenders and coach of wide receivers in 2015 to 2019.
In addition to his vast experience as a coach, during the 2009-2010 season, Morris served as head coach for two seasons after Jon Gruden was fired by the Buccaneers. After his stint at Tampa Bay, Morris trained defensive backs on the Washington Football Team.
