BETHESDA, Maryland, January 19, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Following the diligent efforts of doctors associated with a group called the Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) updated its recommendation for “ miraculous ”drug ivermectin, making it an option for use in the treatment of COVID-19 in the United States.
The result comes a week after Dr. Paul Marik and Dr. Pierre Kory – founding members of the FLCCC, along with Dr. Andrew Hill, a researcher and consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO), presented their data to the NIH Treatment Guidelines.
An FLCCC press release explains the “new designation updated the ivermectin status of ‘against’ [the drug’s use] for ‘neither for nor against’, which is the same recommendation given to monoclonal antibodies and convalescent plasma, both widely used throughout the country ”.
“By no longer recommending the use of ivermectin,” says the statement, “doctors should feel more open when prescribing ivermectin as another therapeutic option for the treatment of COVID-19. This could pave the way for the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] emergency use approval. “
“Ivermectin is one of the safest, cheapest and most widely available drugs in the world,” explained Dr. Kory, president of the FLCCC Alliance. “The studies we presented to NIH revealed high levels of statistical significance, showing benefits of great magnitude in rates of transmission, need for hospitalization and death. Furthermore, the totality of test data supporting ivermectin is unprecedented. “
In its updated January 14 statement on the use of ivermectin, the NIH indicated that it will continue to evaluate additional studies as they are launched.
“We are excited that the NIH changed its August 27 recommendation against using ivermectin for COVID-19,” continued Kory. “This recommendation was made just when the numerous convincing studies for ivermectin were beginning to appear. New studies are still coming, and as they are received and reviewed, we hope that the NIH recommendation for the use of ivermectin will be the strongest possible recommendation for its use. “
Last month, Kory and his team testified before the US Senate Homeland Security Committee in favor of authorizing ivermectin, a Nobel Prize-winning antiparasitic agent, for the early treatment of the new coronavirus. In his passionate presentation, Dr. Kory explained that ivermectin “basically blocks the transmission of this virus”, with “miraculous efficacy”.

Ivermectin has been the subject of dozens of studies and success stories since it was discovered that it reduced COVID-19 in a laboratory last June.
“I’ve been treating COVID pretty much every day since the beginning,” said Kory at the December hearing. “When I say ‘miracle’, I don’t use that term lightly[.] … [T]This is a scientific recommendation based on mountains of data that have emerged in the past three months. “
This data comes from places like India, the second most populous nation in the world, which adopted the advanced treatment protocol by the FLCCC and saw its case and fatalities index drop into “sharp decline”. Although India has four times the population of the United States, it has less than half of coronavirus-related deaths.
Other examples come from Bangladesh, Peru, Argentina, Brazil and several other South American countries, all of which have demonstrated the effectiveness of ivermectin.
Although the FLCCC is encouraged by the NIH’s move towards neutrality in this treatment, it says its current position remains “out of alignment with known clinical, epidemiological and observational data”, which should compel them to “provide more specific guidance on support for the use of ivermectin in COVID-19 ”, and they provide a detailed analysis of the agency’s findings for that purpose.
