The company claims that the content, subject and scope are the same as in the first action, reiterates that “it will take vigorous actions to defend itself”
CD Projekt confirmed receipt of another class action lawsuit from a law firm that represents its own investors.
The Polish studio had already confirmed that it was facing legal action by the New York-based Rosen Law Firm, which claims the company deceived investors about Cyberpunk 2077 – in particular, the state of the game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Now, a regulatory notice reveals that a second lawsuit has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
CD Projekt claims that “the content of the complaint, including its subject and scope, is the same” in the aforementioned class action.
As in the other case, CD Projekt notes that the claim “does not specify the amount of damages sought” and adds that “it will take vigorous action to defend itself against such claims”.
The studio is also being investigated by the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. A Polish lawyer said earlier that he was considering a lawsuit against CD Projekt on behalf of investors.
The news follows the latest apology about technical problems with the game, this time delivered via a video by co-founder Marcin Iwiński.
Earlier this week, a report emerged claiming that members of the development team believed that Cyberpunk 2077 was not ready for a launch in 2020 – something studio head Adam Badowski contested.
