THQ Nordic announced that action RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, a remastering of 2012 Kingdoms of Amalur: Evaluation, will be released on Nintendo Switch on March 16.
The launch will be the first time Kingdoms of Amalur will launch on a portable console, and it seems that Switch owners are about to receive a treat. Three DLCs will be included in total – The Teeth of Naros, Legend of Dead Kel and Weapons and Armor bundles – which, when combined with the base game, offer “hundreds of hours of exploration, dynamic combat and adventure.” Oh, and the song is by ex-Rare employee Grant Kirkhope, which is cool.
Here is an official description:
RPG success returns! Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning comes from the minds of bestselling author RA Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and lead designer of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Ken Rolston. Remastered with stunning visuals and refined gameplay, Re-Reckoning offers intense and customizable RPG combat within a vast game world. Discover the secrets of Amalur, from the vibrant city of Rathir to the vast region of Dalentarth and the terrible dungeons of Brigand Hall Caves. Rescue a world torn by cruel war and control the keys of immortality as the first warrior to be resurrected from the clutches of death.
Players are tasked with building their own character from “countless” combinations before evolving their class and facing many enemies. There is a lot of content and world knowledge to explore, as well as a series of side missions to keep you going for hours and hours.
There’s more on the way, too, as THQ Nordic confirmed plans for a new expansion of Kingdoms of Amalur called ‘Fatesworn’. Details are still scarce at the moment, but we should expect them to arrive later this year.
