Currently, COVID-19 vaccines are available to paid and unpaid healthcare professionals, residents and employees of long-term care facilities and congregants, first responders including law enforcement officials and sworn firefighters, people over 65 and people aged 16 and over. to 64 years with certain medical conditions defined by the CDC that increase the risk of serious illnesses caused by the virus.
If you are eligible to receive a vaccine, you must pre-register for the vaccine on the NJ Vaccine Scheduling System website. According to state authorities, you will be notified when an interview is available to you. Some Planet Princeton readers reported that they received a notification that they were eligible. They were able to register for an appointment through the NJ Department of Health, but reported that there were no options near the Princeton area. They were also directed to a list of places they could call to make their own appointments. However, many of these sites are not currently accepting appointments because they are scheduled or do not currently have the vaccine in stock.
Some readers have succeeded in making appointments on the state’s mega site in Edison, Middlesex County. Readers said they got an appointment after checking multiple sites.
Below are the locations in our region where you can book a vaccination appointment directly. Click on a specific website link for more information and to register. We noticed that most places are out of the vaccine and many are not accepting appointments from Monday until they receive more vaccine.
Vaccine clinics do not currently accept visits. Some readers who are eligible and have had no luck getting an appointment in the region have been able to book appointments at vaccination sites in other counties. The complete list of vaccination sites across the state is available online.
We also created a Google document to collect the latest information on vaccine capacity across the state. We are adding more locations to the document. Currently, locations in our region are listed. If you updated information about a place, add a comment to the Google document. Thanks.

Editor’s notes: The Princeton clinic is vaccinating just 500 people a week now. Capital Health System in Hopewell is listed on the state’s website as a vaccine site, but according to the hospital, Capital Health is not providing vaccines to the general public through the hospital’s websites at the moment. The hospital is in partnership with the municipality for the CURE Arena vaccination clinics.
