Sierra Vista Clinic discontinues COVID vaccination in Fresno as a precaution

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – The Sierra Vista Clinic announced that it is pausing all COVID vaccinations, including in Fresno, after about 10 people in California had allergic reactions to a specific batch of the Moderna vaccine.

California health officials have requested a temporary halt to the distribution of that specific lot, lot # 041L20A. The clinic said it received 1,100 doses of that batch, but everyone who received a vaccine from the Sierra Clinic today did not receive a dose from the consignment in question.

In fact, vaccines from the consignment in question were not sent to Fresno’s Elm location. Vaccinations are simply being stopped due to excessive caution, according to the Sierra Vista Clinic.

The clinic, which had vaccinations scheduled for people aged 65 and over in Fresno and Kern counties as of Monday, January 18, announced some hours in the afternoon that it would not administer the doses until further notice.
