FBI investigates whether Capitol attack suspect tried to sell Pelosi computer to Russian intelligence

The FBI said it received a tip from a former romantic partner that she is seen in a video.

The FBI is investigating whether a woman who allegedly participated in the January 6 attack on the US Capitol stole a computer or hard drive from the office of Mayor Nancy Pelosi, with the intention of selling it to the Russian intelligence service.

According to an FBI criminal complaint filed in federal court in Washington, DC, on Sunday, a witness called the FBI with a tip that a woman from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Riley June Williams, was seen in a video published by ITV , a British broadcast network, depicting Williams’ presence on the Capitol during the riot.

The witness told the FBI that he or she was previously Williams’ romantic partner. The witness claimed to have spoken to Williams’ friends who allegedly showed the witness a video of Williams “taking a laptop or hard drive from Pelosi’s office,” according to the complaint.

The sale to Russia failed, according to the witness report described by the FBI in the complaint, and Williams “still has the computer device or has destroyed it”. The matter remains under investigation, the document said.

The complaint alleges that Williams committed the criminal violations of entering a restricted building and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. She is not accused of stealing Pelosi’s computer.

Williams’ whereabouts are unknown.

“It looks like WILLIAMS got away,” according to the document, and “sometime after January 6, 2021, WILLIAMS changed his phone number and deleted what I believe to be his social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, Telegram and Parler. “

Williams’ mother told local police in Harrisburg that her daughter packed and left, telling her mother that she would be gone for a few weeks, but did not provide information about her destination, according to the complaint.

Screengrabs from the ITV video appear in the complaint. In them, Williams appears to be wearing a brown coat and a green shirt.

The complaint also contains links to ITV videos, including one with an interview with a woman identified by ITV as Williams’ mother, who describes her daughter as “empathetic and loving”.

It came when new images of alleged protesters on the Senate floor emerged, including Jacob Chansley, who officials say can be seen wearing a horn-lined fur hat, standing on the Senate platform where Vice President Mike Pence was sitting. before being evacuated.

According to court documents, Chansley left a chilling note for Pence.

“It’s just a matter of time, justice is coming,” he wrote, according to court documents. The video seems to show you reading the note out loud.

Chansley pleaded not guilty and was detained pending trial.

Elsewhere, a rowdy can be heard saying to the Capitol cops: “You are outnumbered! There are f —— million of us there – and we are listening to Trump – your boss.”

Jenna Ryan, a Texas real estate agent accused of illegal entry and disorderly conduct, also claimed that she was acting under Trump’s direction and wants him to forgive him.

“I am not ashamed of guilt in my heart for what I was doing. I thought I was following my president. I thought I was following what we were called to do,” she told the local KTVT news station.
