1,430 new COVID-19 cases in Alabama; drop in hospitalizations

Alabama has added just over 1,400 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday.

The January 18 10am numbers from the Alabama Department of Public Health show that the state has had 424,028 cases of COVID-19 since March, an increase of 1,430 from the previous day. The state added 1 death to bring the total to 6,121.

In 2,716, hospitalizations continued to decline slowly. The state reached its pandemic high of 3,077 in early January.
