Steve Martin revealed Sunday on Twitter that he had received the COVID-19 vaccine, calling the overall process “silky smooth”.
“Good news / bad news. Good news: I just got vaccinated! Bad news: I understand why I’m 75 years old. There is! ”Martin told his 8.7 million followers.
“The New York operation was smooth as silk (sorry for the @BCDreyer cliché!) And perfectly hosted by the US Army and the National Guard. Thank you all and thank you science, ”continued the actor.
When pressed by a fan about how he got the vaccine, as they had trouble getting one for an older relative, Martin said he signed up online and waited in line too.
“I signed up ON line through a NYC dot gov website (sorry, I don’t have the exact website) and waited in line at the Javits Center,” explained Martin.
He later wrote, “At the moment, I am not having any reside fide.”
Some side effects have been associated with COVID-19 vaccines, according to the CDC, including pain and swelling in the arm where the patient received an injection.
Martin is not the only star who was recently vaccinated in New York. Last week, Martha Stewart confirmed that she received the COVID-19 vaccine and documented the moment on social media.
“I was vaccinated today in a designated vaccine capsule near the Martha Stewart Center for Living in Mount Sinai Downtown,” the 79-year-old man posted on Instagram at the time.
Like Martin, Stewart also waited in line.
“To allay your concerns about having crossed the line, know that I am in the approved age group for this batch of vaccines and have waited in line with others,” said Stewart.
