Vaccine appointments for Monday in Alamodome delayed due to delay in Pfizer shipment

SANTO ANTÓNIO – Due to a delay in delivery of the Pfizer vaccine in the city of San Antonio, appointments scheduled at the Alamodome on Monday, January 18, will be postponed, according to city leaders.

The shipment was delayed by the manufacturer, which is Pfizer. All appointments scheduled for Monday will be rescheduled for Wednesday, January 20.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the doses assigned to us by the state were not sent to us from the manufacturer,” said Dr. Colleen Bridger, assistant municipal manager, in a statement. “We are hopeful that the shipment will arrive in the next 24 to 48 hours, which will allow us to proceed with the vaccination on Wednesday. We ask for your continued patience. “

The date of rescheduled appointments may be subject to change, depending on when the delayed shipment is received, according to city officials. For now, all other appointments scheduled for the end of the week are not affected by the delay.

Anyone who has an appointment at the Alamodome for Monday will be contacted via the email or phone that provided the registration for rescheduling.

Volunteers who are scheduled for Monday will also be notified by Metro Health, city leaders said.

Mayor Nirenberg said that this will have no impact on those who are scheduled for a second dose.

We will bring more updates as they become available.
