Starbucks closes several Manhattan stores due to protests

Several Starbucks stores in Manhattan closed on Sunday amid protests, the company said.

The giant of the coffee chain cited possible demonstrations as a basis for the closing of “selected stores” in the city, according to a note.

“Out of great caution and in keeping the safety of the partner (employee) and the customer in mind, local leaders made the decision to close select stores in the Manhattan area due to potential protests that are happening today,” said a spokeswoman.

The company’s online store locator showed widespread closings across Manhattan. An informant told the West Side Rag that all locations south of 110th Street were closed.

The stores were due to reopen on Monday.

As of Sunday afternoon, no large-scale protests or disruptions had been reported at the Big Apple.

Authorities are on high alert following an FBI alert to more possible attacks before President-elect Joe Biden takes office.

As a precaution, the NYPD has intensified its presence around City Hall, Trump Tower, federal buildings and other important locations, the Post previously reported.
