Bayonetta 3 remains the game that many Nintendo fans clamor for to learn more. After more than three years of silence, no important information about the next action game was released outside of its initial reveal trailer. Fortunately, if everything turns out well this year, this trend should be changing.
In a recent interview, Hideki Kamiya of PlatinumGames talked about Bayonetta 3 a little bit and teased fans when they could finally learn more. Kamiya was asked about the status of some of Platinum’s current projects, for which he then mentioned the third episode of the action series. “Well, I suppose … we’re working on new things, like Bayonetta 3, not that I can say much, ”said Kamiya. “But I hope that we can provide an update during the year.”
Kamiya said he also hopes that Platinum will be able to update fans about some unannounced projects that the studio is working on as well. He acknowledged that he probably shouldn’t even have mentioned that last point, but he still threw it away. “The point is – I’m trying to do a lot of things this year,” he explained.
Even though there is still not much to leave here in relation to Bayonetta 3, at least it’s good to know that the game is reaching a point where Platinum’s managers think they’re going to show off more to the public. Obviously, developers around the world have certainly had a much harder time with their work last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which may have contributed to the fact that nothing has been shown in the game recently.
If there is any update Bayonetta 3, it looks like we’ll hear more in a Nintendo Direct presentation. At the moment, Nintendo has not announced any plans to hold one of these showcases yet in 2021. That said, Nintendo’s last Direct took place in October, so we may be in line to have one soon.
