Kristy Swanson has one or two things to say about “canceling culture”.

O Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, 51, accessed Twitter in defense of outgoing President Donald Trump, who was criticized for movie fans suggesting his special participation in 1992 following Home Alone 2: Lost in New York be removed digitally after his second impeachment last week. The film’s star, Macaulay Culkin, even entered the discussion, endorsing the cut without trump card.

Proud supporter of Trump, Swanson stated that if Trump were removed from the classic film, which was written and produced by the late John Hughes, she would like her own roles in the beloved writer and director to be eliminated as well.

“If Cancel Culture really wants Donald J. Trump to be removed from the John Hughes film” Home Alone “, then, in support of MY PRESIDENT, I would like to be officially removed from the John Hughes films,” Pretty In Pink “and” Ferris Buhler’s [sic] Day off,” tweeted Swanson, who had a small speechless role at the end of Beautiful in pink, and gave a brief speech in the classroom in Ferris Bueller’s day off. Hughes, who died in 2009, wrote and produced the first film, starring Molly Ringwald, and wrote, co-produced and directed the latter.

Although Swanson received some support from his fans, celebrities were quick to respond quickly.

“So do we,” replied Rosanna Arquette, who rose to fame in the 1980s with her role in Desperately looking for Susan, while Jane Lynch’s Joy fame replied: “I’m sorry. Who are you?”

Patton Oswalt scoffed at Swanson’s ardent support for Trump, replying, “This is weak, Kristy. I was removed from SO GOOD AND SANTA CLAUS years before Trump even THINK of running for president. That’s how I support MY leader. Why do you hate America? “

Community Yvette star Nicole Brown commented, “Were you in these films?” before adding that she was less concerned with Swanson’s filmography than with her support for “a guy who incited a Klan riot”.

Never escaped politics, Swanson recently appeared in the documentary Trump vs. Hollywood alongside other conservatives Scott Baio, Isaiah Washington and Dean Cain.

“Why isn’t it right in Hollywood to be conservative?” said Swanson in the film, adding: “I think it’s time to set the example that we are all going to get along, you know? We can learn from each other. We don’t have to hate ourselves. “

In 2019, Swanson and Cain starred in the live reading of the play FBI Lovebirds: Undercovers, in which former Trump-Russia investigators Peter Strzok and Lisa Page played. The production was canceled and moved to a new location after the actress said she received a “death threat”.

Cain came to Swanson’s defense on Sunday, telling actor and director Ken Olin (Thirty-something) that his suggestion that all of his film work be removed was “disgusting”.
