If a winner wins the Mega Millions after the next draw, now at about $ 850 million, it will be the third highest prize in the history of the United States.
The next Mega Millions draw is on Tuesday. The Powerball draw will be on Wednesday.
Both prizes are the totals if a winner chooses the annuity option, paid over 30 years, but the cash prizes are less than the current totals.
Cash prizes, which are usually the winners’ preferred payment method, currently stand at $ 546 million for Powerball and $ 628.2 million for Mega Millions, according to NBC New York.
