The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior members of the royal family last year. Meghan and Harry moved to the United States with their baby son Archie.
Tom Brady, news anchor for ITN, said he thinks Prince Harry is heartbroken by the situation with his family.
But he added that the couple is “satisfied” with the new situation and enthusiastic about their projects.
Mr. Brady was a guest at the Sussex wedding in 2018 and he has already interviewed the couple before they decided to leave real life.
During an interview on Love Your Weekend With Alan Titchmarsh, which is due to air today, Mr. Brady talked about Meghan and Harry.
He said: “I think they are happy, the things they are doing are very excited.
“I think Harry is heartbroken.
“You don’t necessarily need to have the knowledge to know this, but I think it is true.”
Mr. Brady added: “The situation with the family is clearly not ideal. It was a difficult year. “

He said: “It is painful for everyone, painful for everyone, difficult to control.
“In fact, they decided to leave the royal family completely, it was never done.”
In an interview with Mr. Brady for the documentary ‘Harry & Meghan: An African Journey’, filmed before the Sussex left, the Duchess explained how she was warned by her British friends.
Meghan said: “I had no idea, which probably seems difficult to understand here.
“When I met my now husband, my friends were very happy because I was very happy, but my British friends said to me, ‘I’m sure he is great, but you shouldn’t do that because the British tabloids are going to destroy your life.”
Since moving to the U.S., Meghan and Harry have signed deals with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify.
Real commentators are anticipating the return of Sussex to the UK.
Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in their own words, said the first meeting of the Sussex and Cambridges will be “weird”.
He told Sun: “I think it will be very strange if they meet.
“From what I was told, the division is not much better at the moment – they are not talking much.
“I think they will put a united front for the inauguration of the statue of Diana and I am sure they will put a united front for the anniversary celebrations, but behind the scenes I think there will be a lot of tension”.
