Mother and son accused of conspiracy after Capitol riots

A mother and son duo were charged with conspiracy after the Capitol riots on January 6, according to a court case on Saturday.

Lisa Eisenhart and her son Eric Muchel are accused of “intentionally and intentionally conspiring with known and unknown people” to “obstruct or prevent” police officers, according to the lawsuit filed with the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

The US Attorney’s Office for the Central District of Tennessee said on Twitter that Lisa Eisenhart was arrested in Nashville on Saturday in connection with the riots.

Munchel, who is supposedly the masked man photographed carrying a handful of plastic handcuffs by the Senate Chamber, was previously charged with illegal and violent entry into the Capitol grounds.

On Saturday’s filing, officials say a video from inside the Capitol shows Eisenhart and Munchel “in the vicinity of a crowd of individuals who are physically attacking two Capitol police officers guarding the entrance to the Senate chamber”.

The mother-son duo appears to join the chase, and both are seen holding flexible handcuffs in their hands as they chase after her. Both policemen finally escaped to a lower level in the building, and Eisenhart then seems to yell at the policemen as he leans over a railing.

Munchel and Eisenhart then appear to enter the Senate chamber through the same area that the officers were guarding.

The statement also points to an article in The Times newspaper published on January 10 about the disturbances.

Eisenhart told the newspaper that two went to the Capitol as “observers”, but she also told the vehicle: “This country was founded on the revolution. . . I would rather die as a 57-year-old woman than live under oppression. I prefer to die and prefer to fight. “

The arrests come as federal authorities continue their efforts to track and prosecute people in connection with the riot that led to five deaths, including two Capitol police officers.

Dozens were arrested in connection with the January 6 riots, and since then several people have lost their jobs.

The Department of Justice has said earlier his charges of sedition and conspiracy against some of the alleged rioters.
