The LSU men’s basketball team (9-2, 3-1), winner of three consecutive matches, seeks to maintain momentum against South Carolina (3-2, 1-0).
LSU not only won three consecutive wins, but the last two games were complete defeats. LSU led the entire Ole Miss game last Saturday, and on Wednesday LSU led Arkansas by up to 31 points.
On the way to LSU is a team from South Carolina who … I can’t read. Carolina has played five games throughout the season and has only played three times since December 5th. To make matters worse, Gamecocks will be without the head coach and renowned yeller Frank Martin.
The funny thing about tonight’s game is that it is technically for the exclusive possession of second place in the SEC. Since Carolina is undefeated in the SEC game, despite playing only one game, LSU is behind Gamecocks. And LSU needs to extend the winning streak because it needs to keep pace with a really good Alabama team that just beat Arkansas. LSU plays in Alabama on Tuesday night for, potentially, first place.
But we can’t look that far yet. There are deals to be solved and LSU should take care of Gamecocks quite easily. You can see this on the SEC Network.
