Tom Hiddleston made a special appearance at the virtual launch event WandaVision to confront Vision actor Paul Bettany for stealing his trademark trick.
Actor Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the Marvel cinematic universe, called visionary actor Paul Bettany for using one of his trademark tricks in the new Disney + series, WandaVision.
When answering fan questions during the WandaVision Virtual launch event, Hiddleston made a surprise guest appearance to ask a question about Vision’s sudden return to the MCU after his death in 2018 Avengers: Infinity War. “When we last saw Vision in the Infinity War, he was no longer alive, but now he is alive” Hiddleston said, “I was just wondering, don’t you think this is more of a Loki thing, my kind of thing?”

Bettany laughed at the question and teased the joke by replying, “It’s true, I’m totally stealing your lightning, Tom, I’m sorry about that.”
Loki was originally thought to have met his death at the climax of 2011 Thor after falling into a deep chasm in outer space. The god of evil was revealed to have survived and later returned as the main villain in 2012 The Avengers before again ‘dying’ fighting alongside his brother in 2013 Thor: The Dark World. It was just a ploy, however, and Loki came back in 2017 Thor: Ragnarok, only to die at the hands of Thanos in the early moments of 2018 Avengers: Infinity War.
Following 2019 time travel events Avengers: Endgame, an earlier version of Loki is shown to start a new adventure in an alternate timeline, with the character’s extensive legacy continuing into the next Disney + series, Loki.
It is not yet known how Vision returned from death in Marvel Studios’ new reality-breaking series, WandaVision, but Bettany recently promised that, “All of these things will be explained.”
Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air on Fridays on Disney +.
