When it comes to discovering the secrets behind the mystery at Marvel’s WandaVision, The devil is in the details. Viewers already suspect that Mephisto, the demonic villain from Marvel Comics, evoked the seemingly perfect suburban life of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), but it is “nosy neighbor” Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) who seems to know more of what you’re leaving on. Photos of spoiler sets leaked in late 2019 have led some to suspect that “Agnes” is a suitcase for Agatha Harkness – a centuries-old witch who mentored Wanda with the magic of chaos in the classic Marvel comics. .
At the WandaVision series premiere, as a forgotten attempt by Wanda and Vision to determine the meaning of the August 23 date on their calendar, Agnes says the anniversary of her and her previously unknown husband “Ralph” is June 2. A Twitter user pointed out that June 2, 1692 is a key date in the Salem Witch Trials:

The spoiler scene photos captured in December 2019 show Hahn dressed as a witch with what appears to be a noose around her neck, suggesting that “Agnes” is a witch practitioner who was hanged (or almost hanged) during the trials of the Salem witches. Later teasers for WandaVision would show Hahn dressed in a more modern Halloween costume, but with a different look from the “Salem Witch Trial” scenario seen in paparazzi photos.
In the first two episodes of WandaVision, which pull from classic sitcoms The Dick Van Dyke Show and Bewitched, Agnes is the sometimes authoritarian neighbor – someone who seems to be aware of the strange events in the neighborhood of Wanda and Vision in the seemingly peaceful city of Westview.
“Well, with some programs, the reality is that you have to take things episode by episode. So I had the luxury of knowing where everyone was going; I got to know the whole thing,” said Hahn THR about your mysterious character. “As the decades passed, the trick was to stick to something in the center, and it became a lot of fun. The role of Agnes, especially in the sense of a classic sitcom, is that neighbor who is always going over without being invited and offering advice. We know nothing about her own life at home, and she is always complaining while at home. There is a legacy of these characters from so many programs, and it was a lot of fun to research this trope. “
