Quick recap: Milwaukee Bucks 112, Dallas Mavericks 109

The Milwaukee Bucks narrowly beat the Dallas Mavericks 112-109, for the seventh victory in eight games.

NBA.com Box Score

Despite entering the game with a lack of manpower, the Mavericks gave Milwaukee more than enough to handle. The first half saw Bucks leading by just eight, 55-47, in part due to a particularly bad half on the free-throw line for Giannis Antetokounmpo along with nine team turns.

Once again, the Mavericks returned to the game when the Bucks cooled in the third, while Giannis missed the pine tree with a silly fourth foul early in the period. While Dallas held on, Khris Middleton hit several clutch trios in the final minutes to ensure a victory closer than it should have been for Milwaukee. They will go to Brooklyn for a probable showdown with their new big three on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr ..

Stat that stood out

1-10 FT shooting for Giannis. I hate to insist on that, since we all live a lot of tweets about it, but it is impossible to avoid a blatantly rotten performance of the line. Giannis’ long and tortuous free-throw journey never seems to find stable ground. Fortunately, this is the nadir. It can’t get much uglier than that; fortunately, he made up for it with a 14-21 night shot from the ground. At least Bucks took the win.
