The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery draw jumped to around $ 750 million – potentially making it the fifth largest in US lottery history.

The winning numbers were: 3, 11, 12, 38 and 43. The Mega Ball drawn was 15 with a 4X Megaplier.

The payout would also be the second highest since Mega Millions started in 2002.

The last time a lottery player won the Mega Millions grand prize was on September 15, 2020, when a $ 120 million ticket was sold in Wisconsin. Since then, 34 draws have been held without a winner of the main prize.

While no one across the country hit the $ 625 million jackpot on Tuesday, a ticket sold in Hoboken was one of nine second-prize tickets purchased nationally. All tickets are worth at least $ 1 million and correspond to five numbers, but not to Mega Ball.

Nine tickets worth $ 10,000 each were also purchased at the Garden State, New Jersey Lottery officials said. Each third prize ticket corresponded to four numbers plus Mega Ball

The winning numbers drawn on Tuesday were: 12, 14, 26, 28 and 33. The Mega Ball drawn was 9 with a Megaplier of 2X.

Two major jackpots were hit in New Jersey in 2020. An anonymous winner claimed the $ 202 million prize won on February 11 with a ticket sold at Edison and a ticket worth $ 124 million was purchased in Bayonne for the July 24 draw. .

Mega Millions tickets cost $ 2 each and in New Jersey they must be purchased by 10:45 pm on the night of the draw. The chances of a ticket hitting the jackpot when hitting five numbers and the Mega Ball is 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of winning the second prize of at least $ 1 million by hitting five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.

The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open to the public by appointment. You can still claim your earnings – as long as they are less than $ 599.50 – in person at any retailer.

The lottery is also accepting claims sent by mail, although officials warn that payments may be delayed temporarily. Winners are advised to make copies of the application form and the winning ticket for their records.
