Apple TV + free subscriptions extended until July 2021

Apple hasn’t revealed how many customers have signed up for Apple TV Plus – but it clearly wants to keep them as the streaming service’s content line continues to grow.

The technology giant is extending the free access period for Apple TV Plus customers who signed up through its 12-month free subscription offer until July 2021. This is after anticipating this free period for February. So, if you were one of the first to accept the free year deal in November 2019, that turned into 21 months free on Apple TV Plus.

Apple TV Plus monthly customers who are paying $ 4.99 / month will receive an App Store credit of that amount for the next five months (February to June), as first reported by 9to5Mac.

The new content on Apple TV Plus includes the second season of M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller “Servant”, which premiered on Friday; 2nd season of “For All Mankind” by Ronald D. Moore (February 19); and the film “Cherry” by Anthony and Joe Russo, starring Tom Holland as an addict who resorted to bank robberies to pay off his debts (February 26).

Apple TV Plus now includes more than 40 originals, including “The Morning Show” (which has been renewed for the second season); “Dickinson”, starring Hailee Steinfeld; the comedy series “Ted Lasso”, starring Jason Sudekis; Bryce Dallas Howard’s “Dads” documentary; and “The Oprah Conversation” with Oprah Winfrey.

When the tech giant launched Apple TV Plus in the fall of 2019, it provided the free 12-month offer for Apple customers to purchase any new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV or Mac capable of running the latest iOS , iPadOS, tvOS or macOS. This free one-year offer is still in effect; customers have up to three months after first configuring the device to claim the offer.
